Dear Mr. Sena:
I would like to thank you and your staff for the hospitality and support provided during the French delegation visit at Beaver Valley on June 17 and June 18, 2009.
The coordination and support of your staff was exceptional and ensured a highly successful visit to Beaver Valley power station and the county 911 emergency operations center by visitors from the French nuclear regulatory body (ASN) and local government officials from the Fessenheim nuclear power plant area. The delegation was very impressed with the presentations made by your staff, the time spent answering their questions, and your detailed efforts to plan and prepare the days activities. We received feedback that the visit to Beaver Valley was the highlight of the French delegation's U.S. visit and greatly enhanced their understanding of issues associated with plant aging, license renewal, and communicating with the public.
Specifically, thanks to Brian Sepelak for coordinating the onsite two-day visit. Hal Szklinski and Glenn Ritz provided valuable information during the plant tour. Also, thanks to Cliff Custer, Ed McFarland, John Thomas, Sam Paletta, Dave Dillon, and Kevin Ostrowski for their support.
We appreciate your willingness to support this site visit and again thank you for the many efforts made by your staff to make this visit successful.
