FW: Clarification Needed on MPS3 ISI Interval RR No. IR-3-08 DNC staff, via a phone call on 06/30/2009, provided the necessary clarifying information to the question below. The discrepancy between the two Editions of the code referenced in the April 28, 2009 submittal is due to the requirements of 10 CFR 50.55a(b)(2)(xv), which states that for Appendix VIII specimen set and qualification requirements licensees who use later editions and addenda than the 2001 Edition of the ASME Code shall use the 2001 Edition of Appendix VIII.

Clarification Needed on MPS3 ISI Interval RR No. IR-3-08
- Bill, The technical reviewer on MPS3 relief request IR-3-08 needs some clarification on your submittal dated 04/28/2009 as noted below. Note, this is not an RAI, we would just like to discuss this issue:
- 1. In the cover letter dated April 28, 2009 it says that the ASME Code of record for Millstone 3 is the 2004 Edition, with no addenda for the third 10-year ISI interval. In the text of RR IR-3-08 it says the ASME Code of record for third 10-year ISI interval is the 2001 Edition with no addenda.
Which Edition of the ASME Code is the correct code of record for the third 10-year ISI interval?
Please let me know when we can have a call.
