RE: OC Response to GL 87-05 The attached licensee response to GL 87-05 is dated 1987. As such, the licensee would have had to amend or supplement their original 1987 response in 1992, after the sand was removed from the sand bed region.
Therefore, this version does NOT represent the "current" licensee commitments for GL 87-05.
AmerGen stated that a limited review of their corrective actions program database identified that an NRC SER was issued [probably associated with their Tech Spec change that lowered the drywell accident pressure from 62 psi to 44 psi, as part of the design change which removed the sand], with subsequent licensee & NRC correspondence, which committed GPU (the licensee at the time) to corrosion monitoring activities and leakage monitoring activities for the drywell. AmerGen also stated that the identified correspon~dence was used to formulate the current license renewal commitments for leakage monitoring.
AmerGen has been asked to provide copies of their correspondence that documents their current commitments to GL 87-05, Wo1m
