RE: ACTION: Alignment on Oyster Creek LR Commitments inspection comm strategy Good outline of a workable plan. Meets our anticipated needs, and has flexibility should circumstances warrant.
One note: OC is at least 2 shifts behind on drywell NDE. Not sure we will have enough results by COB Thursday [tomorrow] to characterize drywell structural integrity.
Relationship with NJ State guys, Rich Pinney and Ron Zak, has remained open and friendly. They are as well informed as we can make them. They seem satisfied.
Thanks John R.

ACTION: Alignment on Oyster Creek LR Commitments inspection comm strategy Folks, The purpose of this email is to gain alignment on a proposed communications approach for the ongoing license renewal commitments inspection and upcoming exit meeting (Nov. 6) and later the inspection report issuance.
We could have a meeting, but I thought this would be a quicker approach given all of our schedules. After hearing from you, I plan to inform Marc of our approach this Wednesday or Thursday.
Late last Friday afternoon, we discussed a potential strategy for outreach with several considerations, given the current level of interest in related issues at OC.
We discussed several key milestones and approaches.
The milestones:
- 1) The 71003 Inspection completes next week (closed exit meeting is Nov. 6);
- 2) Plant restart following the current refueling outage (and potential for stakeholders to weigh in to the Commission regarding blockage of the restart). Restart is currently expected to be the week after completion of the inspection.
- 3) Issuance of the inspection report (publicly available) within 45 days of the exit meeting. There would need to be a thorough communication strategy for this report, as it might draw media interest and certainly will stoke the interest of stakeholders. Any communications would need to remain sensitive to current litigation and petition proceedings regarding the license renewal review.
