Dear Mr. Plona:

By letter to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) dated March 25, 2009, (ADAMS Accession No. ML090970803), DTE Energy submitted a proposed license termination plan (LTP) and license amendment application for possession only license DPR-9 for proposed activities at the Enrico Fermi Atomic Power Plant, Unit No. 1 (Fermi-1).

The NRC staff has completed its acceptance review of the proposed LTP and license amendment and has found the application acceptable for further detailed safety and environmental technical review. Please note that the complete technical review, including both a health and safety review and an environmental review, may identify issues that require additional information.

Per 10 CFR Part 2, Subparts A and C, a Notice of Opportunity for Hearing regarding DTE Energys proposed LTP and license amendment application will be published in the Federal Register, specifying a 60-day request period, starting from the date of publication of the notice.

In addition, DTE Energys proposed LTP and license amendment application will be listed for the same 60-day period under the heading Opportunities to Request a Hearing or Petition to Intervene on the NRCs Public Website at the following address: http://www.nrc.gov/about-nrc/regulatory/adjudicatory/hearing-license-applications.html.
