Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station, New Jersey - Drywell

Dear Chairman Jaczko:

The purpose of this communication is to request that the NRC consider allowing for an outside review of the safety analysis submitted by Exelon for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station located in Lacey Township, New Jersey.

As you are aware, serious concerns have been brought forth regarding the drywell at this facility. As you are furtheraware, among the leading reasons for opposition to the plant's relicensing centered 'on 'co-rrsion to the plant's drywall shield.

It is our understanding that the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board (ASLB) has recommended to the Commission that an outside review be conducted by the Sandia National Laboratories, not the NRC staff. Our Delegation sincerely hopes that the Commission will decide that an outside review of the safety analysis is necessary and the most appropriate course of action in this unique circumstance, considering that the Oyster Creek facility is the oldest in the country.

Thank you, in advance, for your attention to this important communication.
