OC Sand Bed Inspections Tim, It appears we need additional sand bed inspections in order to accomplish 3 specific goals, and we want at least 2 more bays to be independently inspected by the NRC, in addition to looking at the Bay 11 repairs.
(1) Inspect one bay for moisture or water intrusion. Select a bay in which AmerGen did not identify any moisture or water. The strippable coating came loose on the west side of the cavity. They found moisture and/or water in bays 11 & 13 (both of which are on the west side). I recommend we choose bay 9, or bay 15, or bay 7, in that order (based on proximity to bays 11 & 13).
(2) Inspect bay 11 to verifythe adequacy of the coating repairs, and to look at the extend of the water intrusion.
(3) Inspect one bay and verify the entire epoxy coating surface, within that bay, does not have any indications of coating failure or defects, such as blisters, or rust stains associated with coating defects (e.g., a broken blister with a rust stain running out of the blister). Select a bay in which AmerGen did not perform a second NDE Level-Il VT-1 coating inspection (they were going to re-inspect bays 3, 7, 15, & 19). In addition, exclude bays 11 & 13 (1 inspected them). I recommend either Bay 1, 5, 9, or 17 (no specific preference).
Thanks for your flexability, to help with this difficult inspection task.
