"San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 - Issuance of Amendments Re: Revise TS SR 3.3.7.3.8, "Loss of Voltage Function," for Loss of Voltage Signal Relay Replacement
Dear Sir or Madam:
The NRC approved a change to the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) Technical Specifications with the issuance of License Amendment 217 for SONGS Unit 2 and License Amendment 209 for SONGS Unit 3 (Referenced). These amendments were effective as of the date of their issuance with the requirement that they be implemented in the next refueling outage or unit outage of sufficient duration, whichever occured first.
Southern Californ ia Edison (SCE) hereby requests that the implementation period for Amendment 217 to License NFP-10 be revised to no later than the Unit 2 Cycle 16 refueling outage. SCE also requests that the implementation period for Amendment 209 to License NFP-15 be revised to no later than the Unit 3 Cycle 16 refueling outage. These outages are currently scheduled to begin in late September of 2009 for Unit 2, and October of 2010 for Unit 3.
