CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 2, WITHDRAWAL OF AN RELIEF REQUEST 08-CN-002 (TAC NO.ME0096)

Mr. Morris:
By letter dated November 6, 2008, pursuant to the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 50, Section 50.55a(a)(3)(i), you requested relief from the regulations to support application of full structural weld overlays (FSWOLs) to certain reactor vessel nozzle welds at Catawba Nuclear Station Unit 2 (Catawba 2). On March 31,2009, a decision was made to not implement FSWOLs at Catawba 2 after difficulty in implementing FSWOLs at the subject weld locations. As a result, the relief request (RR) was no longer necessary, subsequently, by letter dated March 31, 2009, you withdrew the request.
The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above cited RR is being treated as withdrawn.
