Thursday, March 26, 2009 11:19 AM Rulemaking Comments Variable Fees on Nuclear Reactors I
Attachments: "AVG certification" Based on the current administration's position on nuclear energy and the postponing of the hearings on Oyster Creek, Pilgrim, and Vermon Yankee, without explanation, I distrust the hidden motives behind the proposal. I suspect that it will sugnificantly change the economics of large power reactors. Moreover, it smacks of the smaller is better position of followers of Amory Lovins.
In relation to the postponment on the hearings on the three nuckear plants, the March issue of Nuclear News had some information and noted the letter sent to the commission by 3 New Jersey representatives. I suspect that this letter was the reason for the postponement.
Are the NRC commissioners bowing to political pressure? Moreover I have noticed that Commissioner Jaczko, Senator Reid's mouthpiece, has cast dissenting votes on a number of issues. Commissioners, get some backbone.
