Purpose:
The NRC requested an Annual Assessment Meeting with Entergy to discuss the NRCs assessment of the safety performance of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station for calendar year 2008. The NRCs assessment is documented in a letter dated March 4, 2009. Time will be provided for questions related to the 2008 assessment of Vermont Yankee.
In addition, a Town Hall Style Meeting will be held in the evening to answer questions on the role of the NRC in ensuring safe plant operations. This meeting will be dedicated to answering questions from the public.

2 Public Participation*: The Vermont Yankee Annual Assessment Meeting is a Category 1 Meeting. The public is invited to observe the meeting and will have opportunities to communicate with the NRC staff following the business portion, before the meeting is adjourned. Several NRC representatives will also be available for a Town Hall Style Meeting in the evening. The Town Hall Style Meeting is being provided to maximize discussion with the public to ensure that issues and concerns may be presented, understood, and considered by the NRC.
