SUMMARY
OF JANUARY 28, 2009, MEETING WITH OMAHA PUBLIC POWER DISTRICT ON PLANS TO SUBMIT AN EXTENDED POWER UPRATE APPLICATION (TAC NO. ME0592)
On January 28, 2009, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the pre-licensing meeting was to discuss with representatives of OPPD plans to submit an Extended Power Uprate (EPU) application for the Fort Calhoun Station, Unit NO.1. A list of attendees is enclosed.
The licensee presented information on how the EPU supports the OPPD Integrated Resource Plan for additional power supply by January 2013. The licensee described its licensing approach, as well as benchmarks. The licensee also discussed its planned plant modifications and schedule. The licensee's slides presented at the meeting are located in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under ADAMS Accession No. ML090370455.
Members of the public were invited to the meeting; however, no members of the public were in attendance. Public Meeting Feedback forms were not received.
