RE: fredtorgns-004-01.doc Regarding the closeout activities for Generic Letter 2006-003 at McGuire Nuclear Station, the Resident Inspectors inspected the Unit 1 and Unit 2 turbine driven auxiliary feedwater pump rooms to ensure that the licensee has established compensatory measures in accordance with the licensees response to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Generic Letter 2006-003, Potentially Nonconforming Hemyc and MT Fire Barrier Configuration, dated April 10, 2006. The resident inspectors confirmed that the licensee continues to track Hemyc installations as fire protection system impairments and that compensatory measures (fire watches and administrative control of combustibles) remain in place pending completion of the modifications and evaluations.
