October 16, 2008 Mr. L. M. Stinson Vice President Southern Nuclear Operating Company 40 Inverness Center Parkway Birmingham, AL 35201
SUBJECT:
JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT 2 - CORRECTION TO AMENDMENT NO. 172 RE: OPERATIONS ORGANIZATION (TAC NO. MD8942)
Dear Mr. Stinson:
On October 7, 2008, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued an amendment to Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-8 for the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Unit 2 (FNP-2). The amendment consisted of changes to the renewed facility operating license and the Technical Specification (TS) requirement for either the Plant Manager or the Operations Manager to hold a Senior Reactor Operator License and was in response to your application dated June 12, 2008.
Due to an administrative error, the license and affected technical specification pages issued on October 7, 2008, contain an incorrect amendment number for FNP-2. The correct number for that amendment is 172. This administrative error affected only FNP-2 and does not change the NRC staffs conclusions. Enclosed are corrected license and TS pages. Please replace the affected pages from the previous amendment with the enclosed pages.
If you have any questions, please call me at 301-415-1493.
Sincerely,
/RA/
