Dear Sir or Madam:
By letter dated January 4, 2008 Southern California Edison (SCE) submitted a request to be considered a pressurized water reactor (PWR) Improved Technical Specification pilot plant for Risk Informed Technical Specification Task Force (RITSTF) initiative 4b. Your letter of February 21, 2008, (Reference 2) indicated that neither an additional PWR pilot plant nor an Improved Standard Technical Specification pilot plant for RITSTF 4b is required for this initiative.
As a result, this letter is to inform the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission that SCE will not submit a license amendment request for RITSTF 4b as previously planned.
