June 24, 2008 Mr. William R. Campbell, Jr.

Chief Nuclear Officer and Executive Vice President Tennessee Valley Authority 6A Lookout Place 1101 Market Street Chattanooga, TN 37402-2801

SUBJECT:

TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY-WITHDRAWAL OF REQUEST FOR NRC APPROVAL OF CHANGES TO THE NUCLEAR RADIOLOGICAL EMERGENCY PLAN (TAC NOS. MD7302 THROUGH MD7307)

Dear Mr. Campbell:

The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge the June 16, 2008, letter from Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession No. ML081690356) that withdrew a request for Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approval of a proposed change to the consolidated TVA Nuclear Radiological Emergency Plan, which had been submitted on November 2, 2007 (ADAMS Accession No. ML073110116). TVA concluded that the proposed change, which removes the provision for a mobile radioanalytical laboratory, would not result in a decrease in the effectiveness of the emergency plan.

The NRC staff has terminated its review of the proposed change and TAC Nos. MD7302 through MD7307 have been closed.

If you have any questions, please contact me at (301) 415-3974.

Sincerely,

/ra/
