SITE SPECIFIC IMPLEMENTATION OF B.5.B PHASE 2 AND 3 MITIGATING STRATEGIES TEMPORARY INSTRUCTION INSPECTION TI 2515/171

Dear Mr. Tynan:

In a conversation on June 16, 2008, Steve Waldrup and Gerald J. McCoy made arrangements for the NRC to inspect the site specific implementation of B.5.b Phase 2 and 3 mitigating strategies at the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. The inspection is planned for the week of July 07, 2008.

In order for the NRC to adequately prepare for this inspection, please furnish the documents listed in Enclosure 1 to the NRC Team Lead and NRR Inspector (one copy each) by June 30, 2008, prior to the planned inspection. Please have available on site at the beginning of the inspection the arrangements and documents listed in Enclosure 2. Steve Waldrup has been advised of this request and provided with the name and address of the NRC lead inspector and the NRR inspector assigned to this inspection.

This letter contains information collections that are subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.). These information collections were approved by the Office of Management and Budget, approval number 3150-0018, which expires on June 30, 2009.

However, because of the security-related concerns contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, a copy of this letter=s enclosure will not be available for public inspection. In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(b)(1)(ii), the NRC is waiving the affidavit requirements for your response, if any If Safeguards Information is necessary to provide an acceptable response, please provide the level of protection described in 10 CFR 73.21.
