ACCEPTANCE FOR REVIEW OF BOILING WATER REACTOR OWNERS=
GROUP (BWROG) NEDE-33213P, ODYSY APPLICATION FOR STABILITY LICENSING CALCULATIONS INCLUDING OPTION I-D AND II LONG TERM SOLUTIONS (TAC NO. MD5743)
Dear Mr. Bunt:
By letter dated June 5, 2007, BWROG submitted for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff review licensing topical report (LTR) NEDE-33213P, ODYSY Application for Stability Licensing Calculations Including Option I-D and II Long Term Solutions. The NRC staff has performed an acceptance review of NEDC-33213. We have found that the material presented is sufficient to begin our comprehensive review. The NRC staff expects to issue its draft safety evaluation by May 30, 2008. The NRC staff estimates that the review will require approximately 320 staff hours including project management time. The review schedule milestones and estimated review costs were discussed and agreed upon in a telephone conference between Michael Iannantuono, Project Manager, and the NRC staff on November 28, 2007.
Section 170.21 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations requires that LTRs are subject to fees based on the full cost of the review. You did not request a fee waiver; therefore, NRC staff hours will be billed accordingly.
