SUBJECT:
DONALD C. COOK NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT 2 - CORRECTION OF AMENDMENT NO. 282 RE: CONTAINMENT SUMP MODIFICATIONS PER GENERIC LETTER 2004-02 (TAC NO. MD5902)
Dear Mr. Rencheck:
On October 18, 2007, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 282 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-74 for Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant, Unit 2. The amendment, among other things, made changes to Technical Specifications Section 3.6.14 to reflect resolution of issues raised by Generic Letter 2004-02, APotential Impact of Debris Blockage on Emergency Recirculation During Design Basis Accidents at Pressurized-Water Reactors.@
Subsequent to issuance, the NRC staff noted that Page 3.6.14-1 contains a typographical error for ACTION C, where the word Ainoperable@ was misspelled as Ainperable.@ The NRC staff found that the error originated from the June 27, 2007, application for amendment. The NRC staff determined that this error was inadvertently introduced, and was not the subject of the amendment or the associated notice to the public. Thus, according to the NRC=s policy established by SECY-96-238 (Agencywide Document Access and Management System Accession No. 9611250030), this error can be corrected by a letter. Enclosed please find the replacement Page 3.6.14-1. This correction does not change any of the conclusions in the safety evaluation associated with the amendment.
Sincerely,
/RA/
