Closeout Letter The subject CAL was issued by the NRC on March 20, 2007 and concerned Alloy 82/182 butt welds in the pressurizer at Catawba Nuclear Station, Unit 2.
Specifically, Item 3 of the letter required Duke to notify the NRC in writing when Catawba Unit 2 has completed the actions and commitments addressed in the letter.
Catawba Unit 2 successfully mitigated these Alloy 82/182 butt welds during the Unit 2 End-of-Cycle 15 Refueling Outage using weld overlays.
Request for Relief Number 07-GO-00,1 documented this issue and Catawba submitted all information committed to in this Request for Relief via letters dated October 25, 2007 and November 8, 2007.
Accordingly, Duke is providing this letter to formally document our closeout of the actions required by the subject CAL.
