Action: Briefing at the Hill re: farley inspection Thanks Karen. You are exactly right. In addition, I had a chat with Stephen, and he plans to send some comments on the slides that will help explain the events to help ensure it is understandable by the audience.

Per my previous e-mail, as the Eaton/Cutler-Hammer breaker technical inspector on the Farley AIT, am I expected to participate in the Congressional briefing in person or by phone to help brief and/or answer questions?
>>> Tim McGinty 09/18/2007 12:08 PM >>>
Karen: I spoke with Scott Shaeffer. The current plan is for McGinty to introduce the NRC briefers, provide a high-level overview of the Farley Units, and some background information on the history leading up to the AIT. Then I will turn it over to Scott and Michael Ernstes to brief on the AIT, and we'll collectively be responsive to any questions.
Please coordinate the slides with Region 2 early this afternoon so we can finalize. Also, please send out a summary e-mail to all the participants to communicate the logistics, including:
- Where we will meet and time of departure from White Flint.
- How the Region 2 folks and the HQ staff will be joined by conference (we should get a conference bridge and pass code). If we are planning to use the HOO bridge, we will have to coordinate with NSIR and all folks would have to understand that it is a recorded line. I prefer an unrecorded bridge with a pass code.
- How many copies of the slides we need to have, etc.
Do we have any intel on specific questions or info that is desired?
Do we know the names and positions of those that we will be briefing? Staffers only?
Thanks, Tim

Thanks for asking. If possible, I would like to have Tim McGinty and the PM (Karen Cotton or Bob Martin) attend for DORL.

Hi Linh, I am trying to coordinate a briefing requested by some members of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works regarding the AIT at Farley. I am coordinating with Region II and Congressional Affairs to do the briefing on Wednesday, September 19th at 1:00pm. RII will be on the phone and David Decker from OCA will go to the Hill. I wanted to know if there is someone from NRR that should attend the briefing. Please, let me know as soon as possible, so we can finish all the arrangements.
- Thanks, Lauren CC:
