December 4, 1999 CURRENT OPERATING STATUS The Haddam Neck Plant has shutdown, and the industrial area is being returned to green field conditions. The plant area will be reduced to the ISFSI in the near future.
CURRENT ISSSUES None pending.
RECENT LICENSEE PERFORMANCE The most recent inspection was conducted in March 2007. This integrated inspection reviewed facility decommissioning and spent fuel storage. The inspection evaluated licensee decommissioning activities related to organization, management oversight, surveillance, corrective actions, decommissioning performance and final status surveys, radiation protection, and solid radioactive waste treatment and transportation. With respect to these inspection areas, the licensee maintained effective programs for decommissioning the site and for the safe storage of spent fuel.
The licensee has submitted good quality final status survey reports, and has responded promptly and fully to NRC staff questions.
