Dear Mr. Walt:
This refers to the May 21, 2007, meeting conducted at our request at the Hartsville Memorial Library Conference Room,147 W. College Ave., Hartsville, South Carolina. The NRCs Chief of Reactor Projects Branch 4, and Resident staff assigned to the H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant met with Progress Energy - Carolina Power and Light Company (CP&L) to discuss the NRCs Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) and the Robinson assessment of safety performance for the period of January 1, 2006 - December 31, 2006. Attendees included CP&L management, CP&L site staff and two members of the public. Enclosed is the NRCs presentation slides.
The discussions focused on the following topics: The NRC s assessment program, the results of the Robinson assessment, and future NRC inspection activities. The NRC answered questions from your staff, the media and the public, following the meeting. The meeting was informative and did not result in any specific action items or decisions.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system
