(a) Letter from G. J. Laughlin (NMPNS) to Document Control Desk (NRC), dated May 10, 2007, Request for Use of Later Edition to ASME Code,Section XI for the Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Inservice Inspection Program By letter dated May 10, 2007 (Reference a), Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC (NMPNS) requested NRC approval to use a later edition of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section XI at Nine Mile Point Unit 1 (NMP 1). This letter and its attachments were entered into the Agencywide Documents and Access Management System (ADAMS) as a package under accession number ML071370228.
Reference (a) included, as Attachment (2), a flaw evaluation performed by Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA). This SIA document, identified as File No. NMP-29Q-301, Revision 1, contained a notation at the bottom of each page stating "Contains Vendor Proprietary Information," and, as part of package ML071370228, received accession number ML071370233 and was classified as not publicly available.
NMPNS has determined that this document in fact does not contain any proprietary information and was improperly marked. Therefore, a replacement copy of Attachment (2) is enclosed (identified as File No.
NMP-29Q-301, Revision 2), which has had the proprietary notation removed. NMPNS requests that this revised document replace in its entirety the document that was included as Attachment (2) in the May 10, 2007 NMPNS letter and that is currently in ADAMS under accession number ML071370233.
