SUMMARY
OF APRIL 30, 2007 MEETING ON HIGH THERMAL PERFORMANCE FUEL On April 30, 2007 a Category 1 public meeting was held between representatives of AmerGen Energy Company, LLC and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to discuss a license amendment request relating to the insertion of new AREVA High Thermal Performance Fuel in the TMI-1 reactor. The amendment was submitted on March 22, 2007. The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize the NRC staff on the scope and details of the amendment request.
Based on the presentation and initial review of the license amendment package, the NRC staff asked several clarifying questions and provided feedback to the licensee on potential areas of staff focus during the review process.
A list of attendees is provided as Enclosure 1 to this memorandum. There were no members of the public represented at the meeting. The presentation materials used during the meeting did not contain proprietary information and are provided as Enclosure 2.
