Extension Request to DPO-2006-002
- Renee, NRR would like to request an extension for this DPO on the OD Decision timeline. Because there are a number of challenging scheduling issues due to multiple significant meetings that are coming up (e.g. NRR Programs Commission Meeting, RIC, Senate Staffer Briefing, NEI meeting, etc.) and the office's competing work priorities, it will require additional time to complete the OD Decision milestone. The extension would allow us to provide Jim sufficient time to support a credible review on this complex issue and for him to hold discussions with panel members so that he would be able to make a well-informed decision. We also want to take the time to prepare Jim's well informed decision into a comprehensive response letter to communicate to the DPO submitter.
As you and I have discussed earlier today, we are requesting an extension to issue this DPO OD decision by 3/30/07. I have discussed this extension with Jim and he approves this proposal.
