In the Reference 1 letter, Duke submitted DPC-NE-2001, Revision 1, to the NRC for approval in connection with plans to load Mark-BW fuel manufactured by Babcock and Wilcox (now AREVA) into reactor cores at the McGuire and Catawba Nuclear Stations.
The topical report describes the fuel mechanical reload analysis methodology associated with the TACO2 computer code. In the Reference 2 letter, the NRC approved the topical report for application to Mk-BW reloads at McGuire and Catawba.
Subsequently, the NRC approved Duke's use of the newer TACO3 computer code for fuel mechanical reload analyses of Mk-BW fuel (Reference 3). At that time Duke discontinued its use of the TACO2 methodology as described in DPC-NE-2001 P-A, Revision 1.
Accordingly, consistent with NRC guidance on its website (Reference 4), Duke withdraws Topical Report DPC-NE-2001 P-A, Revision 1.
