SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT RELATED TO THE LICENSE RENEWAL OF OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION
Dear Mr. Rausch:
By letter dated July 22, 2005, AmerGen Energy Company, LLC submitted, for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review, an application to renew the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station (OCNGS) operating license for up to an additional 20 years. The license renewal application (LRA) was submitted pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 54, Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants. The NRC staff determined that the LRA was complete and acceptable for docketing on September 9, 2005. Since that time, the staff has reviewed the OCNGS LRA, issued requests for additional information (RAIs), reviewed the applicant's responses to the staffs RAIs, issued a safety evaluation report (SER) with open items dated August 18, 2006, and issued an updated SER dated December 29, 2006. On the basis of this review, the staff has developed the enclosed SER to document its findings associated with the safety review of the LRA and supporting documentation for OCNGS.
