NPF-63 SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTED INFORMATION PRESENTED DURING REGULATORY CONFERENCE HELD ON OCTOBER 13, 2006 Ladies and Gentlemen:
On October 13, 2006, Carolina Power & Light Company doing business as Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc (PEC) personnel attended a Regulatory Conference meeting at the NRC Region II Office. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Harris Nuclear Plant (HNP) train "A" Essential Services Chilled Water (ESCW) chiller being inoperable for a period of time in excess of that permitted by Technical Specification 3.7.13. As requested, PEC is providing copies of the following documents which were referenced during the meeting discussions. 1) Calculation HNP-F/PSA-0071 Rev. 0, Harris Fire PRA - Fire Ignition Frequency Calculation, 2) Calculation HNP-F/PSA-0072 Rev. 2, Essential Services Chilled Water (ESCW) Chiller One Time Assessment, 3) Calculation NAI-1282-001 Rev. 0, GOTHIC Charging Pump Room Heatup Analysis for Shearon Harris, and 4) Pioneer Motor Bearing Engineering Report on: Evaluation of Charging-Safety Injection Pump Motor Bearing Temperatures at Progress Energy Harris Nuclear Plant, Rev. B.
No new regulatory commitments are contained in this submittal.
PEC requests that documents 1 and 2 listed above and contained on the Enclosure 1 CD-ROM be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1) since the documents contain information deemed sensitive concerning HNP's physical protection based on screening in accordance with NRC Regulatory Issue Summary 2005-26, Control of Sensitive Unclassified Non-Safeguards Information Related to Nuclear Power Plants and the guidance contained in NRC SECY-04-0191, Withholding Sensitive Unclassified Information Concerning Nuclear Power Reactors from Public Disclosure.
