Indian Point Energy Center Status Report June 27, 2006 Operational Status IP2 is currently at 100% reactor power; the unit has been on line for 40 days and Unit' 3 is operating at 100% reactor power and has been on-line for 266 days.

Indian Point Continues Monitoring Well Samples Entergy conducted a low flow sampling of Monitoring Well 30-a key sample location in the groundwater investigation at Indian Point. MW-30 is located inside the is new sampling wel cosrce uigigro'Aindwater investigation. Gv The truck bay floor where the well is situated was used for storage and movement of equipment during the outage and was unavailable for sampling during 2R17. This past week Entergy and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission split samples from the well.

Samples were obtained from four different depths in the well. (See diagram). A low flow sample technique was used to obtain samples from distinct areas in the well.

The draw rate was between 100 and 400 cc/minute. That's about 4 gallons per hour.

At each of the four well depths a 1-gallon sample was taken. It took two full days of pumping to obtain these samples as the well had to be stabilized between each sample.

Samples were analyzed at ]PEG's chemnistry lab for tritium and gamma emitters. No gamma emitters were found but the well continues to show high levels of tritium, between 185,000 and 397,000 pCiIL. The samples will also be analyzed off-site by both Entergy and the NRC.
