SUMMARY
OF JULY 11, 2006, CATEGORY 1 MEETING WITH STP NUCLEAR OPERATING COMPANY, TO DISCUSS ITS FORTHCOMING APPLICATION FOR ALTERNATE SOURCE TERM AMENDMENTS On July 11, 2006, a public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss STPNOCs approach to its forthcoming application for alternative source term (AST) amendments as well as to clarify the level of detail of information expected by the NRC staff.
The licensee presented information on desired outcomes of the meeting, reasons for adopting AST, scope of implementation, proposed changes to the licensing basis accident analyses, proposed changes to technical specifications, content of STPNOCs application submittal for a license amendment request, and items for NRCs clarification.
A member of the public was in attendance; however, a Public Meeting Feedback form was not received. No comments were received from the public attendee.
A list of meeting attendees is enclosed (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession Number ML062260171). In addition, enclosed is a copy of the STPNOCs slides presented at the meeting (ADAMS Accession Number ML062260180).
