May 31, 2006 Operational Status IP2 is currently at 100% reactor power following repair to one of two main boiler feed pumps that supply heated water to the steam generators.

The unit has been on line for 13 days following the 2R1 7 refueling outage. Unit 3 is operating at 100% reactor power and has been on-line for 239 days.

Siren Test Rescheduled for June 28 Entergy will conduct a test of all 156 of the Indian Point emergency alert notification sirens in Westchester, Rockland, Orange, and Putnam counties on Wednesday June 28. WHUD Radio (100.7 FM) will perform a test of the Emergency Alert System immediately following the siren test.

Observers will be present at all sirens.

Groundwater Investigation Entergy has completed a quarterly boundary well sample at MW-51, which is located in the southeast section of the site. The quarterly sample is part of new sample protocols that Entergy committed to the NRC as part of the on-going groundwater investigation at Indian Point.

The picture at left shows the pumping rig used to draw a series of samples from this well. Previous samples from this well have not shown any radioactivity above background levels.

Educational Outreach Entergy Nuclear Northeast provides customized outreach education programs for schools, youth groups, and civic organizations. The topics we cover include Emergency Planning, Understanding Radiation, Nuclear Fuel and a general overview of the operations of Indian Point Energy Center. If you would like a brochure or are interested in scheduling a program, contact IPEC Communications at 914-271-7441.
