August 2, 2006 Mr. Timothy S. Rausch Vice President AmerGen Energy Company, LLC Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station P.O. Box 388 Forked River, NJ 08731
SUBJECT:
Review of Eligibility Waiver Requests
Dear Mr. Rausch:
This letter is a response to Mr. C. N. Swensons April 4, 2006 letter and your letter of July 10, 2006, which requested a review of a proposed waiver of five (5) months of the three years power plant experience required by your training program for a Degreed Non-licensed Direct SRO applicant. The April 4, 2006 letter requested a substitution of academic credit for the missing power plant experience; the July 10, 2006 letter requested that the applicant be allowed to sit for the examination and defer completion of the experience requirement.
Additional information concerning the eligibility requirements of your training program was provided to the NRC by e-mail on July 26, 2006.
Based on our review of the information submitted, the proposed waiver for deferment per the July 10, 2006 letter would be acceptable. The license would not be issued until completion of the required experience.
Sincerely,
/RA/
Marvin D. Sykes, Chief Operations Branch Division of Reactor Safety Docket No. 50-219 License No. DPR-16
