-287 Request for Relief 04-ON-012 By letter dated December 21, 2004, Duke Power Company (Duke),
now Duke Power Company LLC d/b/a Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC, submitted Request for Relief 04-ON-012, seeking relief from the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section XI.
During NRC Staff review of the request, the reviewers generated a Request for Additional Information (RAI),
which was transmitted to Duke via E-mail.
Duke responded, also by E-mail.
Subsequently, on January 27, 2006, the Staff stated that the information in the E-mailed response was adequate to address their questions/issues, but the information needed to be placed formally on the docket.
Duke wishes to withdraw Request for Relief 2004-ON-012 at this time.
Duke expects to resubmit a request for relief in the relatively near future which will re-address the original request and will contain the additional information requested by the Staff.
