Viohn White- IPEC sta :us report for Jan.25 Page Daily Status Report January 25, 2006 Operatic nal Status Indian Point Unit 2 is operating at 100% and has been online 34 days.

Indian Point Unit 3 is operating at 100% reactor power and has been on-line for 113 days.

Emergency Planning Indian Point Emergency Response Organization will hold a drill on February 1. The new Joint Information Center, located at the Hawthorne traffic control facility will be the new official location of the media and public information function.

Tritium Investigation Continues IP3 Storm Drain Systems As part of Entergy's on-going investigation of tritium in ground water on site, samples are being taken from installed monitoring wells and storm water drainage systems. The following summarizes the results of storm drains and catch basins located near Unit 3:

  • Storm drains in and near the IP3 transformer yard show the highest tritium levels. Sample results range from about 2700 pCVL to just over 6,000 pCVL. These results parallel the test results from the IF)2 transformer yard, although they are slightly lower in tritium concentration
  • Storms drains on the southeast portion of the site show none detectable for tritium
  • Storm drain to the west and south of the administration building at IP3 range from very low levels (867 pCi/L) to none detectable Off-site locations test negative for Sr-90 Test results for samples taken for Strontium analysis from off-site locations in late November and earl:,

December have been received by Entergy. All off-site locations have tested none detectable for Strontiurn-90 activity. Previous tests analyzed for tritium have also shown no detectable activity.

Split samples from the phase one monitoring wells are scheduled to be taken on Feb.7. These samples will be split among Entergy, DEC and NRC.
