SUMMARY
OF APRIL 20, 2006, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH EXELON On April 20, 2006, at 6:00 p.m., an Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Limerick Energy Information Center, Royersford, PA, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Exelon, Limerick, LLC. The NRC requested the meeting with Exelon management to discuss NRCs assessment of the safety performance of the Limerick Generating Station for calendar year 2005.
The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Limerick for the period between January 1 through December 31, 2005. The NRC presentation included background on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP), summary of national performance assessment results, an overview of Limericks performance during calendar year 2005, and a discussion of general NRC issues. As part of this regulatory performance meeting, Exelon presented an overview of their performance (Attachment 2).

The meeting notice with the attached meeting agenda, and the NRCs meeting slides can be found in ADAMS with an accession number of ML060830255 and ML060950054, respectively.
The public observed this meeting and was offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Exelons performance at Limerick and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations. At the end of the meeting between the NRC and Exelon, the NRC offered to answer questions from the public.
There were statements made by Donna Cuthbert, Vice President of ACE, concerning Tritium leakage, plant security, emergency planning, and dry cast fuel storage. There were also questions posed by Joe Mangano concerning the health effects of radiation.
One feedback form was received regarding the format of the power point presentation handouts, indicating that there was a preference for handouts with sections available for note taking.
