Unit 2 Spent-Fuel Pool Activities To keep you Informed of developments regarding the Unit 2 spent-fuel pool, we will periodically include informational updates in this daily report Current Status: Thanks to an improved method for collecting moisture from the pool wall, workers are now capturing about 1,300 milliliters (about three pints) of water daily, compared to about 500 milliliters previously. Entergy engineers and chemists are continuing to analyze soil and water samples, among other things, to learn more about the origin of the water, which may be from an active leak or one repaired in 1992. Health physics technicians are monitoring the area around the spent-fuel pool and outside the fuel storage building, in addition tothe routine radiological monitoring dorqe on a regular basis. It The radioactivity of the moisture on the wall. J is effectively just one Lx percent of the radioactivity of a household smoke detector, with just normal background levels detected several feet way and outside the building. There is no radiological hazard to workers or the public and potential environmental impact is minimal.

Update Dry Cask Storage Facts. heets Available f)

Entergy has produced an updated informational brochure, available Inelectronic afnd hardcopy formert that explains the details of dry cask storage. Contact Andrea Blizard at 914-271-7081 or by return email at kmcmull~entergy.com <mailto:kmcmnull~entergy.com> for acopy.
