IPEC Status Report for Oct. 13 Indian Point Energy Center Daily Status Report Pumas

October 13, 2005 Operational Status Indian Pcint Unit 2 is perating at 100% and has been online 313 days. The NRC is conducting a spec'al inspection regarding 3racks in the IP2 spent fuel pool. Entergy is working with experts in hydrology and environmental monitoring to Investigate the leak.

Indian Pcint Unit 3 is operating at 100% reactor power and has been on-line for 8 days.

Entergy to Conduct Siren Test on October 18 Entergy wvill conduct two full volume tests of the Indian Point emergency alert notification sirens on Tuesday, October 18 between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m.

During t.e test, the sirens will sound twice at full volume for about four minutes in all four counties in the Emergency Planning Zone, Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Orange counties.

The tests are being conducted to ensure that both the primary and backup siren activation systems are operating reliably. Plant personnel have been assigned to check on the operation of the sirens.

Media ads and public service announcement have been placed in local new media to inform residents about tho test.

Training Drill Scheduled for October 19 Entergy, New York State SEMO and the four counties In the Emergency Planning Zone will conduct a training drill for the new Joint Information Center on October 19. The drill will involve the Emergency Operations Center at Indian Point and the JIC located at the DOT Traffic Management Center in Hawthorne, N.Y.
