I urge you to renew the operating license of AmerGen's Oyster Creek plant.
The future of the economy of this country is dependent on increasing the proportion of electric generation coming from nuclear plants. The license of the existing plants must be renewed and new ones licensed.
I recognize that there are some environmental problems with the Oyster Creek plant, but they can be contained and there must be a balance in environmental concerns. If we have to increase the number of coal fired plants the damage to the environment could be far more serious than the damage to aquatic plants & animals.
Obviously the plants must be well managed and monitored closely. Three quarters of the electricity generated in France is nuclear and they have never experienced any significant problems. There is no reason that we can't have as good a record. Thank you very much for your attention to this matter. Madeline Dale CC:
