Document Control Desk Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit No. 1; Docket No. 50-220 Special Report: Channel #12 of the Containment Hydrogen Monitoring System Inoperable for Planned Maintenance In accordance with Action 4.a of Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Technical Specification Table 3.6.11-2, "Acciident Monitoring Instrumentation Action Statements," Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC, is submitting the following Special Report concerning inoperability of Channel #12 of the Containment Hydrogen Monitoring (CHM) System.
Description of Event On January 30, 2006, at 0930 hours0.0108 days <br />0.258 hours <br />0.00154 weeks <br />3.53865e-4 months <br />, operators declared Channel #12 of the CHM System inoperable to perform planned preventive maintenance.
Cause of Inoyerabifitv Channel #12 of the CHM System was removed from service to support planned preventive maintenance. Maintenance activities included the sample pumps in the analysis and bypass cabinets and hydrogen sensing circuit relays.
Actions Taken Maintenance was completed, post maintenance testing was performed satisfactorily and Channel
- 12 of the CHM System was restored to operable status on February 2, 2006, at 1631 hours0.0189 days <br />0.453 hours <br />0.0027 weeks <br />6.205955e-4 months <br />.
