We want to thank you for your cooperation in supporting our efforts to better understand your Agency's role overseeing the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. The January 26, 2006 presentations were well-prepared and very informative.
The presentations by your staff marked an historic day at the Arizona Corporation Commission. We have never had the opportunity to gain such insight about your regulatory role over nuclear facilities such as Palo Verde. As you know, Palo Verde has experienced a number of technical problems over the last year or so.
We are grateful for plain language responses about these operational challenges and the safety implications of these events.
Your staff is to be commended for their professionalism, preparation and responsiveness to our questions.
