- REMEDIATION OF DEGRADED REACTOR BUILDING COATINGS - OCONEE NUCLEAR STATION (ONS) - DOCKET NOS. 50-269, 50-270, 50-287
Dear Mr. Jones:
This refers to the meeting conducted at your request at the Region II Office on December 20, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. The meetings purpose was to discuss your plans for remediation of degraded reactor building coatings. Enclosed is a list of attendees and the presentation handouts.
It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial in that it provided the NRC staff with the opportunity to discuss your reactor building coatings remediation plans. Topics covered included a review of containment coating related activities during the most recent outage (2EOC21), a discussion of the current status of containment coating in each unit at ONS, and a discussion of long range plans to address degraded containment coatings. We acknowledge your commitment to address containment coating problems during subsequent outages at the three ONS units and to complete your commitments to Generic Letter 2004-02 by the end of 2007.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
