Spent fuel rods at Oyster Creek
- Bill, According to the Oyster Creek scoping meeting transcript of the 11/1/05 afternoon public meeting, Mr.
Pete Ressler of the Communications Department of AmerGen (or possibly Exelon) reported to Rani Franovich (NRC) that the Oyster Creek site has 976 bundles in dry storage and approximately 2400 bundles in the spent fuel pool. The transcript also states that 180 bundles are discharged every other year to the pool. He reported that each bundle weighs approximately 600 pounds, about 500 pounds of which is actual uranium fuel.
Please confirm this information.
If you'd like to look at the transcript, it can be found in ADAMS using accession # ML053400361
