MCGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 RE: WITHDRAWAL OF REQUEST AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NOS. MC5003 AND MC5004)
Dear Mr. Peterson:
By letter dated October 11, 2004 (Agencywide Documents Access Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML042930781), you requested review and approval of an amendment request applicable to Technical Specifications (TSs) 3.8.1, AC Sources - Operating, and 3.8.9, Distribution Systems - Operating, for McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2. The proposed changes would have extended several completion times and modified several Surveillance Requirements notes within these TS sections.
However, this license amendment request was based upon a Topical Report prepared by the Westinghouse Electric Company in conjunction with the Westinghouse Owners Group and two Industry/Technical Specifications Task Force Standard TS travelers. Because the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has yet to approve this Topical Report and one of the TS travelers, you requested, by letter dated September 13, 2005 (ADAMS Accession No. ML052640227), to withdraw the above amendment request.
Because of your withdrawal, the NRC staff will terminate its review of TAC Nos. MC5003 and MC5004 for McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2.
