VIOLATION (NRC INSPECTION REPORT 05000528/2004014,
05000529/2004014, AND 05000530/2004014)
Dear Mr. Overbeck:
Thank you for your letter of June 7, 2005, in response to our April 8, 2005, letter and Notice of
Violation concerning the failure to maintain portions of the emergency core cooling system filled
with water in accordance with design control requirements. In your letter, you indicated that the
root cause investigation into this violation is still ongoing. Accordingly, when the root cause
investigation is completed, please provide an additional written response to the NRC describing
any additional reasons for the violation and/or corrective steps that will be taken to avoid further
violations.
We will review your corrective actions during a supplemental inspection scheduled to be
conducted in September 2005. The inspection will be conducted in accordance with Inspection
Procedure 95002, "Inspection for One Degraded Cornerstone or Any Three White Inputs in a
Strategic Performance Area ."
