SUMMARY

OF THE JUNE 13, 2005, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE DRESDEN END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On June 13, 2005, a public meeting was held at the Grundy County Administration Building in Morris, Illinois between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Dresden Nuclear Power Station management and staff. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss NRCs assessment of the performance of the Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3, for the period of January 1, 2004, through December 31, 2004.

The NRC presentation provided an overall assessment of the Dresden Stations performance as described in NRCs Annual Assessment Letter - Dresden Nuclear Power Station, dated March 2, 2005, (reference ADAMS accession number ML050620408). The Dresden Station, Units 2 and 3, operated in a manner that preserved public health and safety and fully met all cornerstone objectives.

Mr. Danny Bost, Dresden Site Vice President, and Mr. Dave Wozniak, Dresden Plant Manager, responded on behalf of the licensee and Dresden Nuclear Power Station. Both Dresden managers provided overview information on activities at the Dresden with particular emphasis on the Human Performance Improvement Plan enacted in response to the Human Performance Cross-Cutting issue described in the NRCs Annual Assessment Letter. Both managers discussed specific actions taken by the station including a causal analysis, senior management engagement, and individual department improvement plans, as well as specific examples on how the station was tracking progress in the area of human performance improvement.

Before adjourning the meeting, the NRC provided the opportunity for members of the audience to ask questions.
