SUMMARY

OF THE MAY 25, 2005, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE FERMI POWER PLANT END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On May 25, 2005, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Monroe County Board of Commissioners Chambers, County Courthouse in Monroe, Michigan with Detroit Edison Company representatives. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the NRC assessment of the Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Station performance for the period of January 1, 2004, through December 31, 2004.

The NRC began the meeting with an overview of the Reactor Oversight Process and the Action Matrix in general. This was followed by a discussion of the NRCs End-of-Cycle assessment of Fermi performance which is documented in the March 2, 2005, End-of-Cycle assessment letter.

W. OConnor, Jr., Vice President Nuclear Generation, Fermi, responded on behalf of the licensee and the Fermi Nuclear Power Station. Mr. OConnor provided an overview of efforts at the Station to address a substantive cross cutting issue identified in human performance.

Before adjourning the meeting, the NRC provided the opportunity for members of the audience to ask questions. No members of the public attended the meeting.
