SUMMARY
OF APRIL 6, 2005, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH PPL On April 6, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., an Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Susquehanna Energy Information Center, Berwick, PA, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and PPL. The NRC requested the meeting with PPL management to discuss NRCs assessment of the safety performance of the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station for calendar year 2004.
The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Susquehanna Units 1 and 2 for the period between January 1 through December 31, 2004. The NRC presentation included background on both plants, performance assessment results, an overview of calendar year 2005 planned inspections and oversight, and a discussion of general NRC issues. As part of this regulatory performance meeting, PPL presented an overview of their performance.

Thirty-five individuals attended this meeting. The individuals who attended were from PPL Susquehanna, NRC, local elected officials and the news media. The public observed this meeting and were offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding PPLs
performance at Susquehanna and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations. At the end of the meeting between the NRC and PPL, the NRC answered questions from the local elected officials and the news media.
