Cnppc Pichard AlcIlY March 31, 2005 LETTER TO THE EDITOR First Energy Corporation is the parent company of Jersey Central Power & Light Co, operator of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Plant, the oldest in the country.
So when we read the Associated Press article on 3\\1 9\\05 that a federal judge in Ohio accused the utility of spewing dirty air all over the northeast and then penalized First Energy Co. $1.1 BILLION for violations of the Clean Air Act, including making physical changes at it's coal fired plant without upgrading pollution controls.
After reading this, I think the people of Ocean County should check their iodine pill supply and keep their car fuel tanks filled at all times in case they need a hasty retreat.
