LICENSE RENEWAL SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT (SER) FOR ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE, UNIT 2 (ANO-2)
Dear Mr. Forbes:
By letter dated October 14, 2003, Entergy Operations, Inc. (ENTERGY or the applicant),
submitted for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRC) review, an application pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 54 (10 CFR Part 54), to renew the operating license for Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2 (ANO-2) for an additional 20 years. The NRC determined that the License Renewal Application (LRA) was complete and acceptable for docketing on November 14, 2003. Since that time, the NRC staff has reviewed the ANO-2 LRA, issued requests for additional information (RAIs), reviewed the applicants responses to the staffs RAIs and developed a draft safety evaluation report (SER) dated November 5, 2004.
On the basis of this review, the staff has developed the enclosed SER to document its findings associated with the safety review of the LRA and supporting documentation for ANO-2.
